Share some­thing you’ve done today to help make a dif­fer­ence in the world around you!

I often will pick up some “leave behind” cof­fee cups or nap­kins (I leave the tis­sues where they are (yuck) and dis­pose of them in an appro­pri­ate con­tainer. What a dif­fer­ence when trash is not just strewn about! Just Doing My Share™!

Our first clean-up of the year proved to be quite suc­cess­ful. We had a won­der­ful turnout of excited Mount Taborites ready to make a dif­fer­ence in our world!

First, John, Kathy, and Car­o­line started the day by pick­ing up trash around Trin­ity Park — thank you!

Next, Mor­ris, Eliz­a­beth, Calder, Eli, Cole, Shay, Krissy, Tom, Sea­mus, and our mas­cot Spirit set out to do our share! After a long win­ter, there was plenty of nice trash and recy­clables to pull out of bushes, trees, gut­ters, and all around the play­ground. Thanks to all for a fun, pro­duc­tive time. We should each feel good for Just Doing My Share™!

Most towns have a local ship­ping company/service who are usu­ally more than happy to take your ship­ping peanuts. I just dropped some off this morn­ing! Just Doing My Share™!

Donate your pack­ag­ing peanuts to a ship­ping facility!

Does your office have recy­cling? If not, do you still recy­cle? A friend sent me an email and said that even though the office build­ing they are in does not offer recy­cling, they still pitch in and take home all the recy­clables and make sure they are doing their share. Great idea!

Time to orga­nize a Just Doing My Share™ Spring Cleanup in the old neigh­bor­hood of Mount Tabor!

We are going way back for this one. My wife and I (dat­ing at the time) were on out way to the Maple­wood Under­ground con­cert series show when we stopped on the road­side to help a motorist change their flat tire. Lit­tle did we know that they were on the way to the air­port to catch a flight back to London.

Well, we exchanged con­tact infor­ma­tion and went on our way. We found out later on (via a let­ter received) that they did catch the flight and make it back in time for her son’s per­for­mance. Now, over 10 years later, we still exchange hol­i­day cards. Just Doing Our Share…

As I was dri­ving out this morn­ing, to get to The home Depot before the crowds, I noticed a per­son knelt beside their dog on a path just down from out house. A split sec­ond later I stopped and backed up as it seemed a bit strange and backed up to see if they were OK. Well, in fact, they were not and had fallen on black ice and could not get up. After almost falling twice (and almost on top of her and her dog!) I helped her up and drove her back home. I then called the town man­ager to get salt on the path before any­one else dis­cover the black ice! Just Doing My Share!

Cole, Shay, and I did our share today by help­ing our elderly neigh­bors shovel out! Thanks boys!
